Pretty random, eh? The Las Vegas strip, but not of anything in particular. I think I was trying to capture it all at once. Taken November 4, 2005.
Just saw this on the news:
Sixty dogs were rescued from an illegal breeder here in Missouri. The dogs were brought to the St. Louis Humane Society because they have a large enough facility to house the dogs while they are nursed back to health. This breeder kept the dogs in wire cages with wire bottoms, making it difficult for the dogs to stand. The dogs were kept in the yard and weren't brushed, walked, or given any attention. One dog they featured had a mat in its fur from one front leg to its tail.
Why do people do this to animals? Just because they're animals doesn't mean they deserve to be treated that way! It breaks my heart when I see how people mistreat their pets--people leave them in cars while they go shopping or leave them in the back of their trucks and drive around with the dog sliding around in the back. Or people who let their cats run wild. I have a neighbor like this. She lets the cat outside every day and it roams around, hiding in bushes and hanging out on people's decks. One of these days the cat will get hit by a car and how will she feel then? She's probably one of those people who will brush it off and run out and get another cat.
Why? Why are people so careless when it comes to animals?
What are five things that most people don't know about you?

1. I scrapbook. Well, techinically, I make my own scrapbooks. They're made from blank books that I've added patterned paper, ribbons, tags, and other doodads to so they look pretty. At least people who've received the books think they're pretty...
2. From kindergarten to fifth grade I attended a Lutheran school. My fifth grade teacher was going through a divorce and I didn't learn much of anything that year, so my mom switched me to public school for sixth grade.
3. I was engaged to be married once. Back in 1999, my boyfriend and I got engaged. We set the wedding date (September 2, 2000), I had a ring, I picked out my colors and bridesmaids and chose table decorations. My mom made a veil and I'd asked my aunt to make me a dress. The fall of 1999 I decided to go back to college to finish my bachelor's degree and he didn't like that. We broke up in May 2000 when he threw me out of the house (with no place else to go--I ended up living with a friend until I could get a place of my own).
Needless to say, we didn't get married. Thank God.
4. I collect Kennedy stuff. I have old Life, Look and Saturday Evening Post magazines from his presidency and assassination. I also have a set of salt shakers (one with his face, the other with Jackie's face, but I forget who is salt and who is pepper); several mismatched dinner plates with the President and his family; and a drinking glass with his face painted on the side. All courtesy of my mother, who used to travel a lot in the state for her job. She'd visit antique malls and buy things for me. She, however, did not give me my favorite and most prized magazine: the February 21, 1964 issue of Life magazine with Lee Harvey Oswald on the cover.
5. When I was in kindergarten, I had a crush on a boy in my class named Aaron. I used to pass love notes to him--I'd tear scraps off homework assignments, write "I Love You" on the paper, and pass them over to him. Sometimes I'd chase him on the playground and try to kiss him. He didn't like me back and in fifth grade told me I was ugly. I think it scarred me for life--hence my current issues with a certain person.
Well, now it's clinched--I'm a complete dork. :-)

How often are you wrong? Do you find it difficult to admit it when you are?

All the time. Probably every day I do or say something wrong.
It's tough to admit when you're wrong, but you gotta do it.
