Hey. I live in the Boston area. I already know that a perfect record doesn't mean you will win the Super Bowl. I also know there is no way that the Patriots coach would've 'rested' his players while going for the perfect season.
WTF?? The coach of the Indianapolis Colts should apologize to Peyton Manning for taking away his chance at history. He should then apologize to the rest of the team and the FANS who pay all their salaries.
I don't understand the thinking in the timing of when the Colts starters were pulled? Why let them play at all?? Couldn't they have been hurt in the first 10 minutes of the game as easily as the last???!
I know this shouldn't be bugging me a full day later...I am a Patriots fan. But, Peyton Manning was robbed!!! I don't care what he came out and said in support of his coach in the press conference. He wanted to play and he wanted to WIN!!!!
Peyton I am sorry.... I would've kept you in the game
Dear Colts fans I am sorry, but your coach gave up

Dumbest criminals caught out
December 28, 2009 11:00pm
THEY may have broken the law but these offenders could never be called criminal masterminds.
Queensland Police have told The Courier-Mail about catching some of 2009's dumbest criminals.June 11
A police officer noticed a vehicle following him while he drove around Clermont, 280km southwest of Mackay, about 11.45pm. The car followed the police vehicle into the police station's yard and the driver got out to discuss a relationship problem. The man appeared drunk and when tested blew a blood-alcohol reading of 0.26. The 35-year-old man was charged with drink-driving, fined $1800 and disqualified from driving for 16 months.

A teenager was seen leaving the Harvey Norman store at Warwick, 80km south of Toowoomba, with two video games he had not paid for. Police went to the store to speak with the informant and get a description of the suspect. Instead, they were handed a very useful document. A staffer recalled the thief had visited the store earlier to seek employment and had given them his curriculum vitae. Police went to the address listed on the CV and charged the teenager with shoplifting.

A woman went to Cecil Plains police on the Darling Downs to report her mobile phone had been stolen the night before. She had left it on her dining room table when a 34-year-old man known to her visited. When he left, she realised her phone was missing. When police visited the man's address, he denied knowing anything about the missing phone. Police then rang the number and heard the woman's phone ringing in the man's bedroom. He gave the phone to police and was given a notice to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court .

Two men who allegedly robbed a hotel at Gladstone, 100km southeast of Rockhampton, at knife point did so without the benefit of a getaway car. They were forced to hitchhike away from the scene and were about 30km from Rockhampton when they used a $50 note as bait to flag down a silver Toyota sedan. The vehicle pulled over and the men got in only to find they had been picked up by two plainclothes detectives. One man and one juvenile were charged with robbery while armed and will appear for sentencing on April 1.
Speaking exclusively to the Sunday Independent at Leopardstown Races yesterday, U2 frontman Bono revealed the band had been working hard on new material in the run-up to Christmas and are hoping to have a new chart-topping album on shelves before the summer.
Speaking about the upcoming release, Bono described how the band had been putting in the hard work in the studio in recent weeks: "We are working away and we have a couple of yearlings in the stables that could really turn out to be thoroughbreds in the future," he said.
"As a band you are always trying to work on new material and we had some unfinished material from the last album.
"I would love to elaborate a bit more but unfortunately it is a democracy -- and sure isn't that the world that we live in?"
One person who had no problem elaborating, however, was U2 manager Paul McGuinness.
The legendary music mogul described how the world's biggest rock group are confident of having the album released by June.
"I have heard some of the stuff the guys have played and, yeah, it is great. Bono is always an optimist but he seems confident of getting a new record out by the end of the next six months. They're talking about June. By that time we will be ready to go back on tour and I think that will give it a different flavour."
Mr McGuinness also described how sales of concert tickets "have been incredible" for the band -- despite the current recession.
"Most of the shows left are either sold out or close to being sold out, which is terrific. We're defying gravity at this stage -- it's incredible."
He also took some time out to offer his support to bassist Adam Clayton following reports last week that he is involved in a court case with his former housekeeper who has allegedly misappropriated €1.8m.
"It is very upsetting for him, especially because it is someone that he trusted and let into his life and his home. I didn't council him or advise him or anything like that.
"For Adam to discover that someone he had trusted had let him down like that. . . well, it is disappointing.
"I suppose though that is life and it could happen to anyone. But I can't really say too much about it because of the legality of it but that the courts are dealing with it."
Meanwhile, speaking about his time off over Christmas, Bono said: "We have had a really great Christmas, very homely and lovely and we had a great time. In fact, we have just had the most amazing year."
The Irish rocker was continuing what has become an annual tradition for him an his pals, by spending St Stephen's Day at Leopardstown races with his wife Ali.
"I did have one bet today but it was more of a sentimental flutter for the year that is ahead of U2.
"I put some money on a horse called Happy Reunion but unfortunately it was no good so I can only hope that we will have a bit more success."
Also at the races was Dublin publican Charlie Chawke, racing magnate JP McManus, horse trainer Dermot Weld, betting boss Paddy Power, Robbie Fox, Johnny Ronan and Guggi.
What's your best advice on how to deal with the post-holiday blues?
Go do some shopping!!! : D
Our daughter became engaged to her Scottish partner today. He is a fine young man, and we are very happy for them both. It is three years today since they met in Inverness, Scotland. They came to Toowoomba last April, and plan to make their future home here. We had planned a BBQ for tomorrow night. I wonder if her partner and I will be dancing together like we were at the wedding we attended in Manchester last year. Better not, I suppose. I don't want to make our daughter jealous...
Busking: the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities. People engaging in this practice are called buskers or street performers. Busking performances can be just about anything that people find entertaining.
How cool is this?!
According to Hot Press and atU2.com:
Grafton Street came to a standstill late this afternoon when a group of superstar buskers gathered to give a unique performance. Bono, Glen Hansard, Damien Rice and Mundy made up the remarkable group, who joined other volunteers who were busking to raise money for the Simon Community. Hot Press caught them performing three songs, before the set finished, prompting a huge and sustained round of applause from astounded passers-by. “That was incredible,” one stunned onlooker told Hot Press. “I was out innocently doing my shopping when I saw a crowd gathered. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I had a closer look – you might expect to see someone like Mundy doing something like this for charity, but there were three huge stars there, giving it loads. It really added to the Christmas eve atmosphere. The only problem is I had one more present to get but the shop is closed now!” By the time the set was finished, Bono had dematerialised into the night air, but Hot Press chatted to Glen Hansard, who had clearly enjoyed the opportunity to return to his roots, in a reprise of his role in the Oscar winning Once. He signed autographs, had his picture taken with kids and chatted to fans. Among other songs, the superstar buskers played Bob Dylan’s ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’ and ‘You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere’ and a version of Mic Christopher’s ‘Heyday’, which had hundreds singing along, with Glen Hansard – Mic’s best friend – leading the line. The crowds responded by donating generously, with one Grafton Street shopper happily handing over €50 for the privilege of having seen one of the most star studded busking sessions in aeons.
Merry Christmas Voxers! Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!
I am writing this at 11:30pm EST in the USA on 12/24/09.
The house is quiet. My Mom and twin brothers have headed to midnight mass. My pita (pain in the arse) brother is asleep and there is peace here.
It wasn't so peaceful earlier though. Holy heck. We had a Christmas Eve nightmare! At around 630pm I discovered that the kitchen sink would not drain. UGH. My pita brother always thinks he can fix things....(insert eye roll here) He tried to plunge it. no go. He tried a liquid draino...no go. He tried to plunge it again....no go. He gets under the sink and starts to take apart the pipe and uses a shop vac to suck and then blow? WTF is he thinking?! We let him try for an hour and then we call in the professionals. We called Roto Rooter. On Chri$tmas eve. UGH!!!! LOL. He was here until just after 10pm but did get the job done thankfully.
Christmas can come now. I got to watch 'A Year Without a Santa Claus...my favorite Christmas show!
Merry Merry Christmas! : )
If you could kiss anyone under the mistletoe, who would it be?
Vox? Do you really want me to dignify that with an answer?!
You already know!!!
